O-Zone: Dragostea din tei

Random

I just heard this piece (RealPlayer) last night at Olivier and Ruxandra, some friends of mine. This seems to be a summer hit in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and UK, and probably other countries in Europe. Not exactly my kind of music, but the melody is really catchy. The lyrics are in Romanian and are pretty simple. I love the video-clip, the guys are just great!

Ma-ia-hii Ma-ia-huu ...

In our family, there's a penalty rule established for increasing the radio volume when that song is playing - it brings us poor parents now to the brink of insanity. There's three different versions of it currently on the charts: the real one from O-Zone, a copycat version, and a Dutch version. It is a very catchy song indeed - much better than other summer hits.

I know the song. It's pretty popular in Canada as well. They've actually been invited (Haiducii that is) to a party called Summer Rush which was hosted by some of the most popular radio DJs in Toronto. This song is actually on a CD along with Groove Coverage, Nina Sky, Armand van Helden and lots of other well known names.
I miss Piatra Craiului.

Have fun! Carpe Diem!

I really didn't like the song at first, thinking that Romania has such good music beside this song. But then when the video finally came to Sweden, I listened to it once again and I loved it! :D To bad that their only playing Haiduciis version overhere though, like O-Zones better...

I'm just coming back from one week vacation in a camping, and that song played several times each and every evening!

And contrarily to Steven, the whole family starts moving and shaking when it plays on the radio ;-)

I heard this while on vacation in Europe this August. I was at a disco with my friends in Tallinn, Estonia, and this came on and everyone screamed and ran on to the dance floor. The DJ mixed it for over half an hour! I loved it, but thought I'd never hear it again. A couple of days later, we were at 'Hercules' in Helsinki when it came on...SAME THING happened! EVERYONE SCREAMED AND STARTED RUNNING FOR THE FLOOR (and THAT place was PACKED!) Now, I'm back in Washington D.C. and I downloaded it, and hear it at the gym. It makes me miss Europe so much, (especially my beloved Italy!) The video is so cool, and ALL 3 of those guys are so cute!!!!!! They facsinate me!!
